You Don't Need "Protein" Broheim

Let's review a few facts before we proceed:

  • There are about 8.7 million (give or take 1.3 million) estimated total number of species on Earth.

  • None of them count Calories

  • None of them are worried about getting enough "Protein"

  • None of them are worried about "too much sugar" within their species appropriate food

  • None of them are counting grams of certain amino acids they are getting

  • None of them use any mechanical objects to hunt, capture, kill, forage, prepare, or digest their food

  • None of them cook or need to cook any food that is appropriate for their species

  • None of them are testing their blood types before they decide what to eat

  • None of them are reading the wrong textbooks

  • None of them are subscribed to for profit bodybuilding magazines that sell ads to "Protein" powder manufacturers.

  • None of them are being educated by or listening to "Authority Figures" that are educated by Corporations that have vested interests in making them sick.

  • None of them are confused about the difference between Optimal and Cultural eating

  • None of them are drinking the milk of other species

  • None of them are eating isolated powders or anything that came from or were altered by labs.

Sigh. Exhale.

Not only is the world "Protein" obsessed, we literally have people by the Billions who believe that we need "Animal Protein". For those who are still confused about said need please review the poster above and think long and hard before you start telling me about how special you and your needs are.

Please list which, if any, dis-eases that are truly considered "Protein Deficiencies"? How many people do you know suffering from this dis-ease? 99% of people reading this surely couldn't name one.

Before I proceed I want to clarify, I am not in any shape, way or form using these people as examples of health. Are they inspiring? Without a doubt. Can I categorically state they used plant foods only and no other "illegal" substance or Animal flesh at some point in there career to get where they are? No I cannot, but I still won't take anything from these people who clearly work hard!

Does "Protein" make muscles? No. Go ahead doubt me, but also accept my challenge. I challenge you to go home for the next 90 days and eat hundreds of grams of "Protein" in any form of your choosing while refraining from exercise and come back and show me how much muscle you create.

Yeah but don't I need "Protein"?

Infants have an extremely rapid rate of growth and the greatest need for protein out of all stages of human life and mother’s milk provides only 6-7% of calories from protein. Michaelsen et al c(1990). Protein levels decrease in human milk over the first 4 to 6 weeks of life regardless of timing of the delivery. Pediatr Clin N Am 60 (2013) 49–74. Hmmmm, I wonder what Nature is trying to tell us?

The World’s Health Organization, the US National Academies’ Institute of Medicine, and the National Research Council suggest that 10% of total calories should come from protein, for our intake to be sufficient as do many other studies not funded by business interests. Furthermore, it is Amino acids that the body needs/uses not "Protein". There are 20 amino acids and 8 of them can be considered essential and therefore we must obtain them from food. This can be accomplished by virtually any random combination of fruits and vegetables assuming they are consumed in adequate quantities.

Fruits contain between 4-8% protein on average. Wait a second, in a similar range to breast milk you mean? Yes, our closest relatives such as the chimps and orangutans eat mainly fruit and are at least 5 times stronger than we are and consume much less protein than we do. Given we are also Primates I will get my "Protein" the same place the Gorilla does also.

I could elaborate an entire book on this but I'm going with common sense and hints from Nature. It requires a massive out of control ego to think we are out smarting Nature. The high "Protein" lifestyle is a dangerous one, as it is also a high fat lifestyle, given almost all foods referred to as "A Protein" are not only high in fat, but should more accurately be called a "Fatty Food" given they are almost always higher in fat than they are in protein. We haven't even elaborated on the fact that Humans are the only species that cooks their food, which creates highly toxic by-products. There is proof in any food Chemistry textbook waiting for you to see that heat damages fats, proteins, carbohydrates, enzymes etc...Today is also not the day I elaborate on the dangers and unnatural nature of a high fat lifestyle but rest assured it does regardless of the source.

Before you start with the you may not have heard but our Ancestors have always hunted mythology:

"Dr Alan Walker and his associates, anthropologists at John Hopkins University, using the most modern electronic microscopic equipment, state: “Preliminary studies of fossil teeth have led to the startling suggestion that our early human ancestors (Australopithecus) were not predominantly meat-eaters or even eaters of seeds, shoots, leaves or grasses, nor were they omnivorous. Instead they appear to have subsisted chiefly on a diet of fruit. Every tooth examined from the hominids of the 12 million year period leading up to Homo Erectus appeared to be that of a fruit-eater.” – NY Times, May 1979

Humans are very emotional about what they eat, which I find very odd. With that emotion comes all manner of logical fallacy pointing out all kinds of cultural justifications for their point that somehow magically supersede first principles, historical proof and Anatomical design.

Do you remember Mike Mentzer, the famous body-builder, who died at the age of 50 of heart disease? He was supposed to be an advocate of "healthy" living. Two days after his death, his brother Ray also died in his sleep. Yes I know it is sad and that there is always more to this and every other story but it speaks volumes about the lifestyle.

In the interest of brevity, I'll conclude by saying if you are concerned about your "protein" intake then focus on eating a wide variety and large quantity of ripe, raw, organic fruits and vegetables and you will have nothing to worry about. The jury is not out on whether or not you should switch to Geico Broheim, but the jury is out on whether or not you need to be chugging down protein powders or eating dead Animals to meet some non-existant need for protein. At least it is with the Intellectually honest and logically consistent people that still exist.
